If you know me well, or if you've known me a long time, you know I've always wanted to have my own blog. In fact, I used to have a photo blog until Facebook came along and crushed its significance. Well, work and life also got in the way... but finally, I'm back. I'm done with publishing for others.
My goal for Rock House Diaries is to make it a permanent accurate account of everything I know (very little), love and am learning in the world of music. Yes - we (Stephen and I) are starting a sythpop Record Label! Nope - we have not done this before.
I know it's going to be a LOT of work. I know you might not believe in us. But this project isn't really about making money or becoming famous (although we wouldn't mind!) - I really just want to have somewhere where I can share our thoughts and frustrations and findings along this journey we've chosen for ourselves.
Here's what I have to offer: years of experience crunching numbers, analyzing financials, sucking up to corporations, creating powerpoint slides and making spreadsheets. Stephen, on the other hand, is a professional musician. He is a singer songwriter, gear junkie, passionate performer and producer. So you see - I've got some catching up to do.
Here's a quote a friend said to me once that I like to live by:
"If you're not failing, you're not trying hard enough."
So here goes me - trying.
